Thirty niner!

Colin is a growing boy, and this week, we succumbed to what we knew had to happen.  Despite still having quite a few size three diapers stashed in the closet, we bit the bullet and ordered a box of size fours.

Colin agrees - wasting diapers is the worst.
As you have been overshared with on many occasions (yep, I'm talking about this and this) and not shared on the blog on several other occasions, suffice it to say that the threes just weren't cutting it anymore.  We were experiencing...leaks.  Gross, gross leaks of epic proportions.

Friends at Pampers, you are a wee bit delusional about your weight estimates for diaper sizes. The size threes were supposed to fit up to 28 pounds, and Colin is hovering around 20 and should have switched a month ago.  The fours are supposed to range from 23-37 pounds - we'll see how that works out.

Also, our pal Lindsay clued us in to something fabulous about Pampers that has me so bummed that I hadn't heard about it sooner:  Pampers Gifts to Grow points.  All diapers and wipes have codes on them for points that can be redeemed for discounts, product, toys, magazines, all sorts of Shutterfly products and more.  We have been buying Pampers for nearly nine months and had no idea.  Hand to forehead.

On Monday, David had the day off from work, so we went out to a late lunch with Colin, which was really cute.  He hadn't been to a restaurant in quite a while, and since he is now eating solid foods, we were able to keep him happily entertained with a packet of crackers and a bread stick for most of lunch.  Thankfully the restaurant was literally empty because we were there around 2:45 p.m., so the mess he made and the interesting noises weren't a bother.

This week, we skipped our classes and most of our play dates this week nursing a nasty cough (which thankfully has mostly dried up - we are on the tail end).  We did go visit Jacey at her job to play with Sadie and Jack for a little bit, which was very fun; Colin likes watching older kids, and I think he was just happy to be out of the house (because when we're bored cooped up inside, weird things happen sometimes - see photo below).

Jacey came over this week to help me make hamantashen, which for the most part looked better than they tasted.  All of these baking experiments have been going only "so-so", and I have decided the problem is htat I'm likely being a bit heavy handed with the flour.  It is making everything a bit too dry and not sweet enough.  Of course, a little bit of googling, a visit to Amazon.com, and hopefully the problem will be solved: I bought a food scale.  I'll keep you guys posted on that, and start sharing the wealth of sweets once they start turning out more delicious.
Hamantashen - they look better then they tasted...
On Friday, we had 8 babies come over to play - even though Colin has (and is hopefully in the process of getting over) a cough, we had planned this a long while back, so we just went with it.  Sadly, it was so crazy that I didn't take any photos of the infant pile-up on our floor.  It was quite the morning.  That's all for now - stay tuned :)

  1. Speaking of Pampers Gifts to Grow, I just went to The Children's Place to buy a few things for Maggie, and the cashier gave me a handful of Gifts to Grow code cards! I now have nearly 2000 points only 7 weeks into buying diapers. For 5000 points, you can get a Fisher Price Cozy Coupe!
